Sarah was born and raised in North Platte, NE and is a Husker fan at heart. Although growing up in Nebraska, she is a proud graduate of East High School in Cheyenne Wyoming, where she played Volleyball and was a member of the Thunderbird Dance team. In May of 2019, she graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Prior to attending UNMC in Omaha she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming where she studied Kinesiology and Health Promotion. During her studies at UW she found her true passion for physical activity as a curative resource and gained a better understanding of how physical exercise was the best option as a non-pharmacological treatment for pain.

Although she has been devoted to her studies, she finds time to travel, relax in the mountains and attend sporting events with her fiancé, Brandon, and her family. She is excited to return back to Cheyenne to spend time with her fiancé and family. Be on the lookout for Sarah and Brandon in Cheyenne as they truly enjoy trying out new restaurants in town and supporting the growing Cheyenne community. You may even catch her at a couple of Post 6 games or running the Greenway (sometimes even with her dad!)

Dr. Sarah Cardenas is currently accepting new patients. Her interests include post-surgical rehabilitation, women’s health, injury prevention, and sports performance specifically with running and baseball.
